Welcome to our #MeetTheTeam series, where we celebrate the incredible individuals who make All Health Training a trusted name in healthcare education. Today, we’re thrilled to introduce you to Cherie Tooms, a passionate and dedicated team member who has been a vital part of the AHT family for 7 years.
Cherie plays a dual role as a Pathology Trainer & Assessor and the Pathology Department Coordinator, bringing expertise and enthusiasm to every aspect of her work. Whether she’s guiding students through practical exercises in the lab, updating curriculum, liaising with trainers and industry partners, or conducting placement assessments, Cherie’s impact is felt across the board.
Her role is diverse, challenging, and deeply rewarding. What drives Cherie the most is seeing her students succeed. Watching students who may have struggled initially grow in confidence and excel during their placements is what she finds most fulfilling. These success stories are a testament to her unwavering dedication and belief in her students' potential.
Among her many contributions, Cherie is especially proud of her involvement in the Australian Clinical Labs Regional Training Program. This initiative has a profound impact, training skilled pathology collectors in regional areas where healthcare services are often limited. Cherie’s efforts not only support AHT’s mission but also improve access to quality care in underserved communities.
When Cherie isn’t shaping future healthcare professionals, she’s indulging in her creative side through watercolour painting or relaxing at home with a good book and her favourite streaming shows. Her hidden talent as a painter adds a layer of creativity to her life, offering her a refreshing outlet outside of work.
Family time is also important to Cherie, who cherishes moments spent with loved ones.
Cherie joined AHT after hearing glowing feedback about its supportive environment and dedication to staff development. She quickly discovered that the company’s culture truly feels like a big family, where every team member is valued, and student success is always the top priority.
For anyone considering joining the AHT team, Cherie offers this advice:
“Have student welfare and learning at the heart of your decision to join. Embrace the culture, share your ideas, and be ready to contribute to our collective mission.”
Cherie’s unwavering commitment to her students, her passion for advancing healthcare training, and her dedication to fostering a supportive learning environment make her an invaluable member of the AHT team.
Her story is a shining example of the difference that dedicated professionals can make in the lives of students and their communities. Join us in celebrating Cherie and the inspiring work she does every day to help keep our cogs turning!
Stay tuned for more stories from our team throughout the year as part of our #MeetTheTeam series!
