π What Is Assessment Only?
Blended Assessment Only is a workplace friendly study pathway that allows eligible individuals to demonstrate their existing competency against the requirements of the qualification.
Rather than attending regular classes, candidates' complete theory through self-paced online learning and attend two necessary practicals to support workplace experience and knowledge.
This pathway recognises the expertise you have already developed through industry experience.
π₯ Who Is Blended Assessment Only Suitable For?
Blended Assessment Only may be suitable for individuals who:
βοΈ Currently working as a Pathology Collector
βοΈ Have significant industry experience
βοΈ Regularly perform venepuncture and specimen collection
βοΈ Have developed their skills through workplace experience
Applicants require 18 months of industry experience and to be working a minimum of 15 hours a week. This pathway is not intended for individuals who are new to the industry or have limited pathology collection experience.

The Assessment Only process involves a combination of:
- Skills and knowledge assessments
- Verification of industry experience
- Two practical assessment sessions
- Third-party reports from supervisors for practical hours
